Two officers shot dead as gunmen attack FRSC Patrol team
Two officers of the Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC) in Anambra State were killed on Sunday when gunmen attacked the station.
The gunmen reportedly struck the station located along Igboukwu -Ezinifite-Uga road in Aguata local government area of the state around 2.30pm.
While confirming the attack, the Corps Education Officer, Bisi Kazeem, in a statement said that the team leader sustained injuries aside in addition to the two officers killed.
The statement reads in part: “The Corps Marshal, Dr Boboye Oyeyemi, who was visibly touched decried the attack while condoling with the families of the deceased staff, the unit commander and staff of Igbo-Uku command, and the entire management and staff of the corps over the loss and prayed for their souls to rest in peace.”
Oyeyemi assured that those responsible for the attack will be arrested and brought to justice.
